So this is a request from Trout River Hawk on the /Gryphon Guild Boards/. Those things on the talons are supposed to be jewels. 
So, this was completely done on the computer. I started it with a friend's tablet, and I have since finished it (jewels, tail, shading, etc.) with my mouse over the last week; overall it took a very long time.
I used a lion ref pic and an eagle ref pic.
